Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the cake pan.
  • In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, almond meal, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, orange zest, and orange juice.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

  • To make it gluten-free, substitute the all-purpose flour with gluten-free flour.
  • For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free butter and plant-based milk.
